Senior Compliance Manager

ICSR is a new, fast growing and exciting consultancy operating primarily in the London insurance market. The business has big ambitions in the coming years and is targeting significant growth across all services that it offers and the ability to grow new services. One of the key elements to delivering on this exciting strategy will be to grow the client base and reputation of the firm.

In this role, working with the Directors of ICSR, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of compliance support and services to ICSR’s clients on compliance related issues including overseeing the activities of staff working for clients on comp0liance related issues. the employees involved in consulting on compliance issues for clients. You will also be responsible for developing the compliance aspects of the ICSR business by attracting new clients and business to ICSR on a commercially sound basis producing profit to ICSR but also with a view to longer term relationships and increased client retention.

This will involve marketing via meeting clients in person when permitted or otherwise using Zoom or telephone, attending market events, writing articles, providing market briefing on relevant topics and otherwise improving the market and potential client visibility of ICSR in an appropriate manner and as agreed with the Directors or ICSR.

Alongside the Directors of ICSR you will be expected to proactively drive forward the long-term strategy of the business using your skills and to assist to deliver the business long term strategic objectives.

Desired Skills & Experience / Knowledge

Technical Skills / Knowledge – Essential

  • Strong knowledge of London Insurance Market
  • Ability to work on creating value within the ICSR business by increasing the client base
  • Experience in advising firms on compliance issues
  • Capable of training individuals and groups of people on technical requirements in compliance and risk in the insurance market
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with high EQ

Duties and Objectives

  • Oversee delivery of compliance advice and services to clients
  • Manage staff involved in the delivery of compliance services to clients
  • Utilising your contacts, grow the business and develop the ICSR client based by marketing to clients and potential clients.
  • Introduce fee generating new business.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the publication on the ICSR website of at least 6 articles per year.
  • Development of ICSR’s approach to client services relating to compliance.
  • Develop and create ICSR templates and the Resource Centre relating to ICSR’s compliance offering.
  • Support the Directors on the creation of value in the business by helping to improve client retention.
  • Identify areas where the firm may be able to increase its services and client base.
  • Identifying potential employees and members of the Talent Pool.

Compliance Professionals with up to 5 years’ experience

Implement Compliance Solutions & Resources Limited (ICSR), is a bespoke advisory, resourcing and consulting company covering the control environments of regulated entities including compliance, corporate governance, risk, actuarial, operations and internal audit. With the continued growth of our client base, market issues and projects which require support we are now looking to expand our team by adding two additional permanent Compliance consultants to support our clients on a wide range of issues.

You will work alongside our existing Senior Compliance Manager and will learn a great deal about the market, the different business models operated by clients and problem solving as well as gain considerable technical experience while working with a great team and spending time with our clients.

About You

You are a solution focused, happy and motivated compliance specialist with 2 – 5 years’ experience working for an insurance firm or a regulator. You have a sensible and pragmatic approach to achieving outcomes that meet the regulatory and legal obligations placed on insurance firms, whilst supporting the business agenda but are interested in learning more and understanding more about the market and businesses operating within it.

You will have specific experience dealing with a range of compliance issues such as:

  • Compliance frameworks
  • Conduct risk models / frameworks
  • Product governance
  • Operational resilience
  • Financial crime
  • Managing regulatory change
  • Regulatory reviews & remediation
  • Licensing and authorisation applications for solo and dual-regulated firms
  • Senior Managers & Certification Regime
  • Data protection
